Cookie Policy
Draft: this page is waiting on review by a lawyer before TapHaul launches. It describes how the app works today.
The short version
TapHaul uses only cookies and device storage that are needed to sign you in, keep the service secure, take payments and remember choices you make, such as your language. We don't use advertising cookies or analytics trackers, and we don't let other companies track you on our sites. Because everything here is needed for the service to work, we show a notice instead of asking you to accept. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask first and make saying no as easy as saying yes.
Cookies we set
- th.session_token (shown as __Secure-th.session_token): keeps you signed in. Lasts up to 30 days.
- th.two_factor and th.dont_remember: carry a sign-in that is waiting on a two-step code, and your choice not to stay signed in. Short-lived.
- th-lang: remembers the language you picked. Lasts a year.
- th_signup_side: remembers whether you are hiring or a pro between sign-up steps. Lasts 30 minutes.
- th_demo_view: lets invited testers open the sample-data demo. Lasts up to 7 days.
- th_demo and th_oauth: sign-in for the demo at demo.taphaul.com only.
Cookies set by our providers
- Cloudflare, our host, may set security cookies (such as __cf_bm) to tell people from bots. The human check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs from challenges.cloudflare.com.
- Stripe sets fraud-prevention cookies (such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) on screens where you pay or save a card.
- Apple and Google set their own cookies if you choose to sign in with them, on their own pages.
Device storage
The app also keeps small settings on your device, such as your theme, language, map view, hints you have already seen, whether we have asked about notifications, and drafts you haven't sent. They stay on your device and are not used to track you. The iPhone and Android apps keep the same settings inside the app.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones we set, signing in and paying won't work. Deleting the app removes its stored settings.
